Welcome
Hello and welcome to Electrical Qualifications. This site has been set up to help you demistify the somewhat confusing route to practising as an electrician. It is a useful resource for young people looking for entry into the electrical industry and adults looking for electrical training to retrain or gain qualifications in order to further a career in the electrical industry. The site is not just for potential electricians and the City and Guilds 2330 crowd, information is also available if you are a current practising electrician or an allied trade such as a plumber, gas fitter, contractor or kitchen fitter through the domestic installers qualifications and competent person scheme.

New courses announced
Monday 13th of August 2007
The following is a brief list of the new 17th Edition courses etc.
Not all the detail is available yet nor are all the titles decided.
2382 – 10 Full 17th Edition course. ( M.C )
2382 – 20 Part 17th Edition course ( M.C )
2392- 10 Fundamentals of testing ( provisional title ) ( M .C )
2392-20 Same as existing 2391-100
2392-30 Same as 2391-200 ( old 2400 )
2393 - 10 Part P Electrical Safety
2393 – 20 Qualified Supervisors to Part P
2393– 30 Building Regs Electrical safety Commercial and industrial installers.
It looks like there is going to be quite a flood of different qualifications to hit the industry. Some seem to be immediate replacements for the old with the 17th Edition pending. I suspect that it is because of the confusion over what qualifications are needed for different aspects of the job.
