Online Learning
Many potential electricians, electrical trainees, improvers and practising electricians have started to use some of the online learning services on offer.
What is online learning?
Online learning is an extension of the more traditional distance learning courses offered by organisations such as the Open University. One advantage with online learning (or e-learning as it is sometimes known) is that many more types of interactive learning can be integrated into the course, as is demonstrated below:

A good course should contain a healthy balance of information, questions and answers and interactive elements amongst other methods and should be structured well to create a learning experience that can be easily followed, tracked and monitored and most importantly, enjoyed.
Why study online?
More and more students choose the online learning route for a number of reasons. One of the obvious ones is time, especially for those with families who cannot make the commitment to a college or a learning provider. Another is location, not all of us live in areas that can easily access quality training provision. With online learning, only internet access is needed for actual course study, with some of the better providers providing real time support via e-tutors. Online learning is also convenient for those who are highly motivated. A flexible course allows students to learn at their own pace and a well written course should keep a student engaged.
Choose carefully
When choosing an online training provider, treat it exactly as you would when choosing a college. Education is not cheap to initiate so do some research before you commit your hard earned money towards a particular provider. There are various forums about where you can gauge opinion on some of these providers and no shortage of people willing to lend opinion.
