The change in the qualification is in full swing, the C&G 2357 is now in draft and with the Summit Skills for approval. We cannot look at these units yet apparently, they are top secret according to the C&G. Meanwhile the C&G are busy working on the content including a course book and exam success book.
The AM2 now becomes a mandatory part of the qualification forming the last set of "performance" evidence.
If you are studying in Wales, then you can continue to enrol on the C&G2330 until December 2010, if not, then you cannot move from the existing 2330 level 2 to the level 3.
One thing seems for certain though; if you are over 18 then you can no longer train as an electrician. The Summit Skills have stated this categorically (through the C&G, they will not speak to anyone regarding the qualification and have ignored virtually all forms of contact).
More information as and when we get it. _________________ Thank you for visiting Electrical Qualifications. Please feel free to ask questions here or email us at info@electricalqualifications.co.uk.
